San Jose Fire Department & Petting Zoo

The children were in awe to see the firefighters and the fire truck up close. The firefighters taught the children about calling 911 in case of an emergency and that if there is ever a fire in their house to run towards the firefighters instead of being scared and hiding from them. They turned on the siren for us and all the children plugged their ears. It was LOUD!! One of the fire fighters asked if we knew what to do if we caught on fire -- and they knew to stop, drop, and roll.

Standing in the warm sun listening to the firefighters talk

The firefighters showing us all of their gear

P tried on the big firefighter hat and boy was it a lot heavier than it looked.

The children were very excited to climb through the cabin of the fire truck.

The children asked many great questions

Thank you so much to the San Jose fire department for coming to Creative Minds to teach us about fire safety and show us the big fire truck.
