Planting herbs...

We have continued with our farm theme for many weeks now, still inspired by that original petting zoo visit in June. Talking about farm animals circled around to a discussion of what animals and people eat -- plants! Plants that we grow to eat (or to feed to animals) are called crops, so we've started talking a lot about crops.

We planted lots of herbs and have been taking good care of our plants. We learned that they grow better when they're near the window or outside so they can "eat" the sunlight.

Our spring onions have sprouted!

Watering the plants...

These past couple of weeks we have been getting ready for some Pre-K work too.

We have been working on making our first names with beads, crayons, and other found items. Please come and check our handiwork on our owl wall!

Thanks,
Teacher Richa

P.S. For those who didn't hear yet, Teacher Kristina had her baby girl on July 20th. Everyone is doing well and looking forward to coming back to school this fall!
