We had a very special visit this past week from Teacher James. He brought an instrument called the timbales, a type of drum. We got to use drum sticks, instead of our hands like we did last time on the bongos.

We did our best to keep a beat with Teacher James. 1,2,3...1,2,3. And then when got that we tried to make a beat that had a 5 count... 1,2...3,4,5. It was a challenge for us.

To sketch the timbales, we first made two circles, one big and one smaller. Then we made straight lines down from the corners and connected the lines.

Our first ever Boy Band

and Girl Band

Still, our favorite was the Thunder Stick. We hope that one of these times that Teacher James will help us learn to make our own Thunder Stick. They make it sound like a real thunder storm is coming!

We also had a new friend join our class this week, I, and on Friday we celebrated I's 4th Birthday. The perfect week to start a new school.

We read the book, "Alberts Special Day" and crowned our friend birthday king.

We sang to I and he was our line leader all day.

All of our smiley faces waiting patiently to see what birthday surprise I and his mom brought to share with us. The Purple Room joined us for our celebration.

Make a wish!!

We enjoyed Carmel apples with rainbow sprinkles, they were so yummy!

Happy 4th Birthday and welcome to the Blue Room! Thank you again!

Hugs,

Teacher Kristina
